Father's Day 2010 in Cheyenne, WY

Happy Father's DayNot sure what to do with dear ole' dad this Sunday?  (That's right THIS Sunday, June 20th is Father's Day)  Here are a few events around the Cheyenne area that are sure to be a hit with dad!

Woodchopper's Jamboree & Rodeo ... An annual event for over 48 years, the chips fly during Father's Day weekend every year in Encampment as loggers come from all over the country to compete for the title of Rocky Mountain Champion Lumberjack. Using power saws, axes and hand saws, men and women competitors cut down “trees”, chop logs and saw squared wood blocks in half, racing the clock for the fastest time. Cowboys ride bulls and broncs, and the melodrama encourages the audience to get involved.  For more information, visit www.saratogachamber.info.

Father's Day Swim ... Spend an evening at the pool.  Fathers get in FREE with their child's paid admission at Paradise Valley Pool and Casper Family Aquatic Center from 5pm - 7pm on Saturday, June 19th. .

Fort Laramie Rendezvous Association ... Friday - Sunday; 9am - 6pm FREE ADMISSION.  The "Fort Laramie Rendezvous Association" was formed for the sole purpose of providing a cultural experience for the whole family through authentic, historic reenactments and educational demonstrations … The "Association's" goal of keeping alive the Pioneering Times between 1804 and 1840 when Traders of furs, clothing and necessary supplies was prevalent here on the plains of the West is now being fulfilled.  joins us for Father's Day; you'll be glad you did!

Whether you engage in one of these events or spend the afternoon at home with dad, all that will matter to him is that you spent precious time with him.  I wish all the dads of the Cheyenne area a Happy Father's Day!
